He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Dixon and Tilda Bush Dixon; and his siblings, Christine Eldridge, Gladys Galloway, Imogene Ison, Dennis "Babe", Lester, Arcle, Hobert, Paris and Carl Dean Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Gaynell Dixon; his children, Jen Dixon of Cornettsville and Steve Dixon (Dreamela) of Hallie; his grandchildren, Lacey Ison (Danny) of Cornettsville, Janetta Stumbo (Josh) of Minnie, Sierra Cornett (Cole) of Lexington, Adam and Andrew Hallie (Drew Boy); his great grandchildren, Maci, Eric Burns, Zachary Collier, Jace Adam Noble Collier, Solomon Collier and Sawyer Ison; his sisters, Wanda Caudill of Hallie and Elva Ison of North Carolina; and his friend Greg Sparkman.
