He is survived by: his spouse Patti Campbell; his son Robby Bates (Michelle) of Cynthiana, KY; his grandchildren, Austin King, Aubrey Bates and Marleigh Bates; his parents, Robert Bates and Lois Bates; and his sister Jean Hammons (Larry) of Williamstown.
