He was predeceased by: his stepfather Donnie Cooper; his grandparents, Ernest, Gladys Gillispie, P. E. and Georgia Crosthwaite; and his son Zach Beasley.

He is survived by: his wife Lori Kratzer Gillispie; his parents, Gayle Gillispie (Ginny) of Corinth and Beverly Cooper (late Donnie) of Cynthiana; his children, Chase Gillispie (Kayla), Taylor Burkhead (Aaron), Tori Jolly, Lexington and Kyleigh Christopher; his siblings, Jeffrey Gillispie (Lukas Murphy), Shane Gillispie, Emily Spencer (Dion) and Shannon Burk (Kenny); and his granddaughters, Kamryn and Kori Beasley.
