He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Proffitt and Nannie Mitchell Proffitt; his aunts and uncles, Don Holland, Starlin, Lorene Mitchell, Angels, Dorman and Glenda Lickliter; his father-in-law Glenn Fields; his close friend Henry Standafer; and his sisters, Betty Monday and Patricia "Pat" Dixon.
He is survived by: his wife Glenda Proffitt; his son Ken Proffitt Jr. (Jennifer); his granddaughters, Aubree and Melia Proffitt; his mother-in-law Wilma Fields of Corbin; and his siblings, Carolyn Weilage (Don) of Crestwood, KY, Carl Brewer, David Lickliter, Robbie Lickliter and Don Hutton. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and by a host of family and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home (607 Master St, Corbin, KY 40701). A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Hopewell Baptist Church (1045 KY-1223, Corbin, KY 40701). A graveside service was held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the Cumberland Memorial Gardens South U. S. (5970 US-25, Corbin, KY 40701).
