It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jewell Martin (Corbin, Kentucky), who passed away on February 21, 2025, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Martin; her children, Melinda Morris and Larry Martin; and her parents, George Dobson and Jemima Douglas Dobson.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Chonda Sexton (Greg), Eligha Martin, Robbie Martin, Eric Martin (Fumiko) and Kimberly Martin (Jason); and her great grandchildren, Gunner Sexton, Lucas Martin, Albin Martin, Ryo Martin, Cole Rabun, Ethan Rabun, Joseph Smith and Jorja Smith.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home (607 Master St, Corbin, KY 40701). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Jewell's life was a vivid tapestry of love, courage, and service, which she wove meticulously through her numerous contributions to her community and her country.
