He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Compton and Freda Adkins Compton; and his uncle David Adkins. He is survived by: his sons, Wes Compton (Ann) and Jason Compton (Christine); and his grandson William Gary Compton. He is also survived by 9 sisters-in-law and 6 brothers-in-law 27 nieces and nephews, 45 great-nieces and nephews, 47 great-great nieces and nephews, and 2 great-great-great nieces and nephews.
