He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Henry Harrison Mayes, Mary Lilly Mayes (Minton), Elgan Frank Garland and Myrtle Ethel Garland (Hamlet); and his father Clyde Asia Mayes.

He is survived by: his mother Catherine Louise Mayes (Garland); his wife Lisa Ann Mayes (Good); his daughter Kristin Ashley Sellars (Mayes); his son-in-law William Neil Sellars; and his grandson Jonathan Jeffery Sellars. He is also survived by other family members and friends.
