He was predeceased by: his parents, Hayden Wells and Bessie Wells; his wife Valerie Sue Wells; his daughter Darva Dianne Gibbs; his son-in-law John Bill Gibbs; and his sister Janice Gregory.
He is survived by: his nephew Kevin Gregory (Annette) of London, Kentucky; and his great-nephews, Joey Gregory (Bailee) and Chris Gregory of London, Kentucky. He is also survived by other relatives; and his church family.
