She was predeceased by: her mothers, June Willie and Ina Relliford Short; her son Marty Shanks; and her siblings, Carl, Allen, Orville, Ed Short, Leoda Lunsford and Sarah Short.
She is survived by: her children, Diane Kindred, Wayne Shanks (Tabby), Emery Shanks (Janie), Orville Shanks (Kathy), Herbert Shanks (Shelia), Lionel Shanks (Darla) and Marvin Shanks (Teresa); her brother Jesse Short (Nancy); and also, Judy Felan (Frank), Sharon Kindred (Bill), Vivian Means and Kathy Pearson. She is also survived by 28 Grandchildren, 43 Great-grandchildren, 8 Great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
