He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Letcher and Gladys Blair Samuel (Linda Bryan Samuel); and his brother Ben L. Samuel, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Mary Ann Wilson (Ray) of Clinton, Joe Samuel (Elizabeth) of Columbus and Kara Ward (Brent) of Clinton; his grandchildren, Caleb Deweese of Clinton, Lukas Deweese (Payton) of Clinton, Ashley Threlkeld (Richard) of Ames, IA, Alisha Gourley (Trevor) of Fulton, Ally McClanahan (J. D.) of Hickory and Garrett Ward of Clinton; and his great grandchildren, Olivia Deweese, Trigg Deweese, Eli Threlkeld, Isaac Threlkeld, Joelle Gourley, Ellie and Ila Deweese.
