He was predeceased by: his father Lether Burton; his wife Helen Faye Kemp Burton; his granddaughter Baylee Fayth Hagedorn; and his siblings, Joseph, Zenith, Jimmy, Ronald "Moonbeam", Gobbel (Minnie), Katie McKinney and Wanda Burton.

He is survived by: his children, Suzanna Streeval (Tony) of Columbia, KY, Rodney Burton (Ashley) of Columbia, KY, Cagney Burton of Columbia, KY and Kayla Hagedorn (Vince) of Columbia, KY; his grandchildren, Leslie, Sarah, Lily Streeval, Ethan, Audra, Asher Burton, Jake and Levi Hagedorn; and his brother Onda Wayne Burton of Columbia, KY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
