He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Burton and Dorinda Burton; his wife Nellie Nancy Harmon Burton; his children, Mae Beverly Burton and Michael Bradley Burton; his granddaughter Tonia Rena Helm; and his siblings, Pink Burton, Sarah Burton, Cecile Cowan, Lizzie Cowan, Rissie Burton and Gladys Burton.

He is survived by: his children, Mary Betty Helm (Kenny) of Columbia, KY, Morris Benny Burton of Columbia, KY, John Jeffro Burton (Karen) of Columbia, KY and Marilyn Bessie Judd (Tony) of Greensburg, KY. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren.
