He is survived by: his wife Deretha Spires Powell of Columbia, KY; his children, Kim Grider (Mike) of Russell Springs, KY, Chad Powell of Columbia, KY, Brent Powell (Michelle) of Columbia, KY, Nichole Bair (Tim) of Columbia, KY and Bradley Powell of Columbia, KY; his grandchildren, Tristan Coomer, Erin Grace Bair, Elizabeth Michelle Bair, Sarah Paige Grider, Lucas Powell and Griffitt Powell; his siblings, Jerry Raymond Powell (Bonnie) of Columbia, KY, Ronnie Lee Powell (Lisa) of Bardstown, KY, Doris Grant of Russell Springs, KY and Dimple Stilts (J. W.) of Greensburg, KY; and his brother-in-law L. C. Green of Columbia, KY. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.
