It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen Susan Kafka of Columbia, Kentucky, born in Cincinnati, Ohio, who passed away on July 11, 2024, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Karen had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Karen may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Anthony A. Pietsch and Laurel E. Harrod Pietsch; and her brother Anton Pietsch. She is survived by: her husband Steven George Kafka; her sons, Alexander and Andrew Kafka; and her brother Robert Pietsch.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Hosparus Health Green River or the Vanderbilt Cancer Center in Karen's name.
