George Rice Jr. Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George Rice Jr. of Columbia, Kentucky, who passed away on December 23, 2020 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, George Moore Rice, Sr. and Flora Eva Hovious Rice; his son Ricky Caldwell; and his grandson Josh Roche. He is survived by: his wife Christine Baker Rice; his children, Janet Biggs (Kenny Gaskins) of Columbia, KY., Cherita McFarland (Rick) of Columbia, KY., Joey Caldwell (Kelly) of Columbia, KY and Greg Caldwell (Cindy); his sister Margie Rice Coomer; his grandchildren, Elijah Coffey (Holly), Layden Coffey (Lexie), Tanner Caldwell, Kyndal Bishop (Drake), Lisa Janes (Brandon), Joe Caldwell (Stephanie) and Heather Sanders (Randy); his niece Nancy Breeding Smith (Buddy); his nephew Doug Breeding (Kim); and his pet Beth.

He was a U. S. Navy Veteran, a member of Charity Baptist Church and was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service serving in the Columbia Post Office.
