He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Bryant Gilpin and Mattie Mae Mann Gilpin; and his siblings, Hayden Gilpin, Jimmy Gilpin, Ethel Long and Clarice Ashby.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Gilpin (Elaine) and Sheryl Rippey; his grandchildren, Michaele Meredith (Craig), Terry Gilpin (Kayla), Angela Gilpin, Rebekah Gilpin and Gabrille Gilpin; and his great grandchildren, Hadley Gilpin, Zoey Meredith, Regan Gilpin and Elijah Meredith.
