It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Hoots (Columbia, Kentucky), born in Cumberland, Kentucky, who passed away on February 26, 2018, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his siblings, Ralph Hoots, Reverend Bob Hoots and Shirley Frank (Hoots). He is survived by: his wife Joyce (Loy); his children, Pamela Hoots of Columbia, Cathy Abell (Paul) of Bowling Green and Douglas Hoots (Tami) of Lexington; and his grandchildren, Caitlyn Bruns (Alex) of Ames, Ryan Hoots (Heather) of Lexington and Anna Hoots of Lexington.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Gene Hoots Memorial Scholarship Fund.
