He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Martha Susan Wade Bennett and Russell M. Bennett; his son Russell Bennett of Columbia, KY.; his wife Barbara Boudreaux Bennett; and his brothers, Ralph and Garvin Bennett. He was also cherished by two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
