He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Gillum Taylor and Mildred Coomer Taylor; and his sister Sharon Parson. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Shuffett Taylor of Columbia; his son Casey (Sheavon Taylor); his stepchildren, Dr. Michelle Shuffett of New York and William (Monica Shuffett); his grandchildren, Sophie Taylor, Caysen Taylor and Cannon Taylor; his stepgrandchild Avery Shuffett; his siblings, Barney (Nancy Taylor) and Phyllis (Jeff Sparks); his brother-in-law Vernon Parson of Gradyville; and his nieces and nephews, Sherry Burris, Tabetha, Willow Sparks, Hailey, Chandler Staten and Briley Taylor.

You would also find Chester donating his time in other areas of the community by remodeling or building homes for family and friends, as well as giving away cars and trucks when he found that a need arose.
