He was predeceased by: his parents, Welby Lee and Myrtie Rooks; his wife Bernice Burton Rooks; his siblings, Rollin Rooks, Charles Rooks, Cecil Burton, Ruth Burton and Tyler Rooks; and his half-brother Welby Rooks.
He is survived by: his siblings, Eugene Rooks (Polly) of Edinburgh, IN and Ida Pearl Bryant of Franklin, IN; and his half-siblings, Holland Rooks of Louisville, KY, Alvin Rooks of Louisville, KY, Bonnie Shelton of Louisville, KY, Judy Wilkerson of Louisville, KY and Dottie Levin of Missouri. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, friends.
