She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Long and Geneva Long of Coldiron, Kentucky.; her husband Robert Simpson, Sr.; and her siblings, Jeanette Long Barbay and Roger Lewis Long.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Simpson, Jr. (Vicky Simpson), Michael Wayne Simpson (Tammy Simpson) and DeAnna Simpson Short (Jackie Short); her grandson Shawn Robert Short; and her siblings, Virgil Long, Jr. (Shelvey Long), Shirley Jean Long Simpson, David Lane Long (Sherry Long), Nona Ann Long Carmical (Jack Carmical), Jan Rose Long Blanton (Vernon Blanton) and Dell Long. She is also survived by 5 other grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Anderson Laws and Jones Funeral Home (114 S 3rd St, Harlan, KY 40831). A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Coldiron Church of God. A burial was held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 at the Long Cemetery (2007 Happy Top Rd, Wallins Creek, KY 40873).
