He is survived by: his wife Rita Marcella Spurlock Adkins; his children, Sherry Boylen (John) of Hazard, KY, Stephen Adkins (Farrah) of Greenville, SC and Carrissa Caudill (Rosspoint); his grandchildren, Candace Combs, Matthew Adkins, Tawny Jenkins, Amanda Caudill, Landon Adkins and Layna Adkins; and his great grandchildren, Gunner Combs, Zoe Combs, Nathan Jenkins, Kolton Adkins, Kashton Adkins, Kay Bree Adkins, Kyson Adkins and Keaton Adkins.
