She was predeceased by: her husband Clay Zumwalt; her parents, Homer T. Burgess and Gladys Dungan Burgess; her son Michael Zumwalt; her sister Marie Franklin; and her children-in-law, Mary Zumwalt and Harold Darnaby.

She is survived by: her children, Linda Darnaby, Larry Zumwalt (Betty) and William "Bill" Zumwalt; and her grandchildren, Barry Zumwalt (Tammy), Gary Zumwalt (Roberta), Steve Darnaby (Carrie), Leigh Ann Phillips (Alan) and Kim Skinner (Davey). She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
