He was predeceased by: his father Roger Carnes; his grandparents, Erman and Nettie Decker; his aunts and uncles, Emma Burns, Randall Decker of Clarkson, Alfred Decker of Clarkson, Allen Carnes of Clarkson and Gayle Matchell of Missouri; and his niece Bonnie Mae Wyrick of Indiana.
He is survived by: his mother Sue Carnes; his wife Kathy; his parents-in-law, Irma Mitchell of Indiana and Dennis Bealor (Carol Lee); his children, Travis Haycraft (Leah) of Clarkson, Christopher Carnes of Clarkson, Cody Carnes of Clarkson, Bobbi Jo Carnes (Craig Lasley) of Clarkson, Ryker Carnes of Clarkson and Irma Sue Carnes of Clarkson; his siblings, Sherri Mayhew, Ashley Higdon (Brandi), Paul Carnes and Barry Higdon (Amanda); and his siblings-in-law, Joshua Dossett of Indiana, Ashlee Wyrick (Jesse) of Indiana, Sierra Martin (Seth) of Illinois, Steven Slack (Annie), Savannah Slack of Leitchfield and Amanda Highbaugh (Jackson). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 20 nieces and nephews.
