He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh McCray and Mabelle Leiting McCray; his daughter Carrie McCray; his brothers, Hugh and Terry McCray; and his grandson Aaron Matlock.

He is survived by: his children, Mike McCray (Jennifer) of Glasgow, KY, Merideth Fields (Shannon) of Upton, KY, Lori Skinner (Kevin) of Bethpage, TN and Linda Butler (Tommy) of Catoosa, OK..
