He was predeceased by: his brother Pete Higdon; his grandchildren, Patrick Higdon and Alex Higdon; and his great grandchild Joshua Birch. He is survived by: his parents, Dent Higdon and Myrtle Hill Higdon; his wife Wanda Jean Pierce Higdon; and his sons, James Douglas Higdon (Janie), William Patrick Higdon (Phyllis), David J. Higdon (Renee) and Jonathan Eric Higdon (Tracy). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren.
