He was predeceased by: his parents, James Helem and Etta Jean Ross Washburn; his son Sonny Washburn; and his siblings, Beverly Spalding, Billy Grigsby, Eddie Washburn, Wayne Washburn and Roy Grigsby, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Bailey Washburn; his children, Sherry Marie Frye (Isaac) of Springfield, Kiersten Ray (Nathan) of Chapin, SC. and Jason Washburn (Ciera) of Richmond; his siblings, Deloris Smith (Kenny) of Springfield, Betty Weakley of Springfield and Calvin Grigsby (Alice) of Mt Washington; and his mother-in-law Betty Bailey. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Gideon's International or Wakefield Baptist Church Building Fund.
