With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lonnie Edward Melton of Central City, Kentucky, who passed away on August 24, 2023 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Ann Wood Melton; his parents, Granville Melton and Bessie Lee Mitchell Melton; and his brothers, James Melton Jr., Judson Melton and Roy Haire.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Taylor (Chris) of Franklin, TN, Teresa Rogers (Ken Stout) of Bowling Green, Sandra Griffith of Central City, Janice Murphy of Central City and Buddy Griffith (Tina) of Central City; his grandchildren, Stephanie Graves (Adam), Hannah Burt (Austin), Ethan Taylor, Ted Rogers, Rebecca Rogers, Erin Tompkins, Natasha Beckham, Katie Rogers, Justin Fleming (Lana), Levi Murphy (Alexa), Amber Fox (Curtis), Makayla Harvey (Adam) and Mikey Griffith; his great grandchildren, Sophie, Baylor, Brynley, Hazel, Duncan, Ryan, Abbigail, Robbie, Tori, Isaiah, Noah, Lia, Mayson, Camdyn, Bailey, Liv, Tatum, Allison, Bentley, Oliver "Ollie Bug" and Elijah; his niece Lisa Melton; and his sister Dean Hopper. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
