He was predeceased by: his parents, Delmar Clayton and Edna Warner Clayton; his granddaughter JoAnna Louise VanCleve Howard; his son-in-law Jim Blakeley; and his siblings, Thomas Clayton, Cathy Compton and Judy Hite.
He is survived by: his former wife Doris Clayton; his wife Mamie Louise McCormick; his stepchildren, Jim Tucker of Berkeley, Buddy Clayton (Tabatha) of Island, Edna Richardson (J. R.) of Cadiz, Clara Johnson (Wayne) of Central City, Marsha Layton (Scotty) of Calhoun and Rhonda Blakeley of Powderly; and his brother Ronald Lynn Clayton (Pat) of Lakeland, Florida. He is also survived by 15 step grandchildren; 16 step great-grandchildren.
