He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Robinson and Ruth McMurry; his grandmother Myrtle Edwards; his friends, Roger Dishman and Chad Arnold; his siblings-in-law, Phyllis Johnson, Kathy Sullivan and Timmy Barton; and his mother-in-law Mary Magdalene Surrett.
He is survived by: his stepfather Fred McMurry; his wife Brenda Wilson; his son Tim Wilson (Jackie) of Pittsboro; his grandchildren, Jake and Taylor Wilson of Pittsboro; his half-siblings, Lisa Burchell (Gene) of Kingsport, Donna Kennedy, Peggy Hamilton, George Robinson and Dale Robinson; his siblings-in-law, Ronnie Barton (Twyla), James Surrett, Virginia Surrett, Judy Counts, Wanda Matney, Donna Duncan (Bill) and Vivian McConnell; and his niece Tammy Sullivan (Bill).
Following the COVID-19 restrictions set forth by the Governor of Virginia of no more than 50% of capacity gathering and face-covering requirements, Funeral Services for George Edward "Butch" Wilson will be conducted at 7:00 p. m. Sunday, June 21, 2020, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel in Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Lee Stidham and Rev. Danny Meade officiating.
