He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Bennett Hines and Mary Francis Moorman Hines; his significant other Susan Taylor Hines; his sisters, Diane Albin and Sue Smith; his siblings-in-law, Linda Hines, Ronnie Taylor and Junior Taylor; and his pet Boo.
He is survived by: his children, Christa Mattingly (Matt) of Owensboro, Shannon Hines of Owensboro, Jordan Hines (Erin) of Lexington and Joel Hines of Yakima, Washington; his grandchildren, Logan, Jenna (Zach), Gracelyn, Otis and Ira; his brother Larry Hines; and his in-laws, Iva Embry (Jan), Anthony Taylor (Laura), Cheryl Shrewsbury (Jonny) and Lawana Nauman (Jeff). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as several lifelong friends.
