She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Benton and Annie Lee Geralds Gittings; her husband Cornell Stephens; and her siblings, Dorothy Richardson (RV) and Rex Gittings.
She is survived by: her children, Diana Smith (Ronnie), Susan Kay, Bennie of Center and Connie Travis (David) of Owensboro; her grandchildren, Justin Smith (Kim) of Greensburg and Angela Powell (Jamie) of Irmo; her great grandchildren, Kylie and Kellen Powell of Irmo; her sister-in-law June Gittings of Tompkinsville; and her niece Peggy Gittings.
