He was predeceased by: his son Paul Douglas Spaulding; his mother Mary Guinn Spaulding; and his sisters, Alice Luna and Wanda McDonald. He is survived by: his wife Ute; his daughter Laura Ann Gomez (Anthony); his grandchildren, Caitlyn Bump, Alicia and Hunter Gomez; his sister Imogene Ragsdale; and his close friends, Freida Thomas, Brad, Wendy Lowder and Todd Meyer.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hardin County Animal Shelter.
