He was predeceased by: his parents, George Frye and Nora Lee Priddy Frye; his daughter Melissa Dawn Frye; and his siblings, Georgia Lee, Mary Edith, Francis Lamplant, Cecil Frye, James Frye, Thomas Frye and Charles Frye.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Compton Frye; his children, Melvin Frye Jr. (Amanda) of Big Clifty, Bill Frye (Tina) of Brandenburg, Roger Frye (Cookie) of Rineyville, Barbara Fox of Rineyville and Barbara Ann Renville (Hezie) of Cecilia; and his brothers, Marvin Frye, David Frye and Joseph Lamplant. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
