He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilson Winstead and Elizabeth Goodman Knott; his stepfather Frank Knott; and his siblings, Ronnie Knott and Geraldine Winstead.

He is survived by: his siblings, Bobbie Goodman and Wilson Winstead. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
