It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lucy Helton of Cawood, Kentucky, born in Louisville, Kentucky, who passed away on September 29, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William N. Gray and Ellen Gray (Lawson); her husband Theodore Helton; her daughter Eulagray McHargue; her son-in-law Claude Mchargue (Bud); her son Ted Helton; and her granddaughter Melissa Camarillo.
She is survived by: her siblings, James C. Gray, William Gray, Mason Gray, Carroll Gray, Ernest Gray, Johnny Gray, Frank Gray, Harry Gray, Milton Gray (Bud), Jack Gray, Mayme Marcum, Nellie Turner and Ellen Williams; her children, Elaine Camarillo (Rick) of Floresville, TX, Janice Stringer (Chris) of Cawood, KY, Johnny Helton (Chris) of Cranks, KY and Joy Harris (JR) of Cranks, KY.; and her grandchildren, Jonathan McHargue, Theo McHargue, Rik Camarillo, Caleb Helton, Christa Stringer, Josh Helton, Rikki Middleton, John Helton, Jordan Harris and Alison Harris. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and her many friends, especially her friends.
In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to honor her memory may make a donation to The Friendship Baptist Church, The Harlan Mission Outreach, or the Fields Cemetery, all of which were dear to her heart.
