Ronnie Cox Obituary
Ronnie Cox, age 78 of Cave City, departed this life peacefully at his home on December 28, 2024. The Hastings, Nebraska native was born on November 25, 1946 to the late Everett and Wyvon Trautmann Cox. He was married to his loving wife of fifty-two years, Barbara Esters Cox, until the Lord called her home on May 2, 2018.
Ronnie lived a life of dedication, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community. He worked for many years as a farmer and in construction. He took great pride in his labor, contributing to the growth and development of his surroundings. His hands were calloused from a lifetime of toil, but his spirit remained gentle, embodying the values of strength and kindness.
Ronnie was a member of Cherry Springs Missionary Baptist Church, and a dedicated fifty-year member of the Bear Wallow Cave City Masonic Lodge #231 F&AM, where he was enriched by Masonic principles and bonds of brotherhood. Beyond his professional and social contributions, Ronnie profoundly loved nature. He enjoyed camping, the serenity of the great outdoors, and spending cherished time with his beloved family.
He leaves to honor his memory— his children, Sonja Sturgeon (Michael) and Ronnie Cox, all of Cave City, and Kevin Cox (Rena) of Horse Cave; his grandchildren, Katlyn Holman (Jake) and Megan Cox (Aaron Keene); great-grandchildren, Brantley and Grayson Holman; a brother, Gerald Cox (Teresa) of Munfordville, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Lee Cox.
The interment will be in Cave City Cemetery.
