He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Starling Gardner and Lora Skelley Gardner; his sisters, Gladys Sidebottom and Ann Custead; and his son-in-law Tony Ongers.
He is survived by: his wife Lola Gardner; his children, Debbie Ongers, Tammie Torrescano (Moses), Lorrie Stevenson (Mike), Susan Wilkerson (John), Bill Gardner (Jennifer), Cathy Shore (James) and Barbara Coronado (Lou); and his brothers, Edward Lee and Dwayne. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and spouses; 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
