She was predeceased by: her parents, Harley "Dick" Hester and Marion Jane Hester (Neeley); her husband Sherman Allen Carey; her grandson Lucas Carey; and her siblings, Darrell Leonard, Harley Hershel Hester and Dixie Durbin.
She is survived by: her children, Ricky Carey and Sherry Murphy (Roy); her grandchildren, Jessica Dover (Thomas), Lindsey Tester (Michael) and David Coates (Chelly); her great grandchildren, Katelyn, Emily, Preston, Paisley, Jake, Braylie, Riley, Parker and Reya; and her siblings, Glenn Hester, Larry Hester, Betsy Christy, Mildred Llewelyn and Carol Hester.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 3:00 PM and on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel (410 N Dixie Hwy, Cave City, KY 42127). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 2:15 PM at the Cave City Cemetery.
