He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Mears and Ruby McCallister; his daughter Connie Jean Mears Maddox; his siblings, Lloyd, Robert Mears, Betty Jean Ward, Alberta Pryor and Edna Faye Meade; his granddaughter Kelly Shea Curran; and his stepson Kevin Bruce Pugh.
He is survived by: his wife Fran Mears of Cave City; his stepdaughter Lori Brewer; his granddaughter Abbey Ottman (Paul); his stepgrandchildren, Jamie Brewer, Michael Blythe, Adam Blythe and Calvin Brewer; his great grandchildren, Wesley and Lorelei Ottman; his sisters, Delores Turner and Doris Hayes; and his son-in-law Mark Curran (Terri). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
