He is survived by: his mother Martha Smith Poynter; his wife Debra York Poynter; his sons, Brad Poynter (Ashley) of Cave City and Patrick Poynter (Beth) of Cave City; his stepchildren, David Carroll of Bowling Green and Lydia Dowdell of Illinois; his grandchildren, Hadley, Addyson, Graham Poynter and Charlie Carroll; and his brothers, Ricky Poynter (Debbie) of Horse Cave and Joe Poynter of Hardyville.
