He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Coffey Rakes; his children, Bill Rakes (Mendy) of Ashland, KY and Joyce Rakes Boggs of Ashland, KY; his grandchildren, Kyle Rakes (Jessica), Corie Bradley (Justin), Seth Rakes and Ryan Counts; his great grandchildren, Braxton Bradley, Bria Bradley, Sawyer Rakes and Nolan Rakes; and his siblings, Paul Rakes (Ella Faye) of Catlettsburg, KY, Bob Rakes of Catlettsburg, KY, Judy Scott of Catlettsburg, Phyllis Meeks (Wornie) of Hearts, WV and Martha Snehotta (Deiter) of Elyria, OH.. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
