He was predeceased by: his parents, James Osborne and Sarah Ballenger (Freeman); and his siblings, Linda Hill and James "Bugs" Ballenger, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Trish" Ann Dortch of Carrollton; his children, Beth Gordon (Lee) of Newark, Sarah Ballenger of Easley, Andrea Pope of Louisville and Cheyenne Pope of Carrollton; his sister Renee Flynn of Taylors; his brother-in-law Billy Hill of Taylors; his grandchildren, Faith, Jason, Skyler, Isaiah, Hazel, Quintin and Karma; his niece Savannah; and his nephews, James III and Ricky.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Lewis "JB" Ballenger Memorial Fund. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
