He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Duncan and Opal L. Horine Duncan; his former wives, Sharon Duncan and Willa McDaniel Duncan; his wife Hallie Duncan; his son-in-law Rev. James Flynn; his brothers, Richard and Wayne Duncan; his grandson Mickie Duncan; and his stepson William Carroll Wilson.
He is survived by: his children, Connie S. Knox, Donnie of Carrollton, KY, Sherrie D. Jackson of Madisonville, KY, Christie L. Flynn of Carrollton, KY, James Otis Timothy "Timmie" Duncan (Debbie) of Sugar Grove, OH and Arthur Martin "Martie" Duncan (Carolina) of Wimberley, TX; his stepchildren, Debbie Crase (Harry) of Ghent, KY, Mary Sue Mercer of Carrollton, KY, Denise Beutel of Vevay, IN, Tina Lucas (Billy) of Owenton, KY, Mike Kemper (Jodie) of Carrollton, Eddie Kemper (Vickie) of Carrollton, KY, Greg Kemper (Patsy) of Ghent, KY and Carey McDaniel of Louisville, KY; and his sister Dorothy Jones of Madison, IN. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and twenty eight great grandchildren.
