We bid farewell to Jo Ann Mitchell of Carlisle, Kentucky, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 14, 2025 at the age of 85. Jo Ann touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Adah Lee and Ora Mae Ogden Hughes; her grandson Jamie Mitchell; her sister Bonnie Hughes; and her daughter-in-law Becky Harding.
She is survived by: her sons, James Joseph "Jimmy Joe" Mitchell (Bobbie) of Nicholas County and Jeffrey Allen "Jeff" Mitchell (Bruce Glowacki) of Sacramento, California; her siblings, Patsy Cox, Janice Cox of Carlisle and Ricky Hughes of Ewing; her grandchildren, Lenisa Lang (Dave), Joey Edward Mitchell, Jesse James Mitchell and Brandon Harding; and her friend Geneva Steele. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home (105 S Locust St, Carlisle, KY 40311). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at the Sunnyside Cemetery.
