She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Leonard Thomas Gaither and Nellie Shain Gaither; her sons, John T. Trumbo and William R. Trumbo; her grandchildren, Andrew Shawn Trumbo and Amy Rose Early; her sister Jean Reeser; her husband John P. Trumbo; and her sister Marle West. She was also cherished by four nieces, and five nephews.
