He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerry M. Putteet and Grace Christine Hasty Putteet; his brother Bobby Thurman; and his brother-in-law Phillip Patterson. He is survived by: his children, Jerry Todd Putteet of Cane Valley, Brian Lee Putteet of Somerset, Kristina Smith (Jimmy) of Somerset One and Melissa Putteet of Somerset One; his sister Juanita Patterson; and his grandchildren, Matthew Lee Putteet, MacKenzie Putteet, Lilee Alexander, Brilee Putteet, Bailey Putteet, Peyton Putteet and Kyndal Putteet.
