She was predeceased by: her parents, Isaac Henry "I. H." Brown and Verna Rupe Brown; her husband Verlon Smith; her siblings, Oscar Brown, Dorsey Brown, Otha Brown, Elmer Brown, Aulney Brown, John Henry Brown, Raymond Brown, Charlie Brown, Hillard Brown, Golda Taylor, Lillie Yocum and Gladys Briggs; and her granddaughter Sabrina Smith.

She is survived by: her children, Alfred Smith (Cha) of California, Judith Lanita Wilson (Scott) of Stanton, Yvonne Eilts (Brent) of Irvine, Milly Vappie (Don) of Covington and Verla Griffin (Steve) of Franklin, Tennessee; and her grandchildren, Tonya Wilson, Amanda Lee, Steven Griffin, Hannah Stott, Anthony Kellerman, Martin Russell, James Smith, Sylvia Smith, Sandra Smith and Sarah Steedman. She is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
