She was predeceased by: her parents, Ambers, Sr. Gilbert and Maudie Frances Taulbee Gilbert; her husband Chester Esmal Russell; her daughter Maudie Alice Starnes; her grandson Jimmy Lee Howard; and her sister Ruthie Phillips.
She is survived by: her daughter Julie Spears of Campton, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Cody Spears, Hannah Starnes, Dustin Spears and Sarah Starnes; and her siblings, Ambers Gilbert, Jr. (Brenda) of Beattyville, Mike Gilbert (Pollyanna) of Campton, C. B. Gilbert (Julie) of Lee City, Joey Gilbert (Sandy) of Hazel Green, Brack Bryant of Rogers, Kentucky, Frank Bryant (Pauline) of Rogers, Kentucky, Charlotte Dickerson of Clay City, Sue Bryant of Campton and Teresa Hayes (Kelly) of Rogers, Kentucky.. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
