He was predeceased by: his parents, John, Sr. Taulbee and Goldie King Taulbee; his stepdaughter Sylvia Cull; and his siblings, Andrew Taulbee, Susie Bell Sword, Riva Hensley and Martha Manns.

He is survived by: his wife Bertha Moore Rose Taulbee of Grassy Creek, Kentucky; his stepdaughter Tracy Nickell (Nick) of Hazel Green, Kentucky; his stepgrandchildren, Alexia Cull and Pete Cull; and his brothers, Bill Taulbee of Jackson and Joe Taulbee of Frenchburg, Kentucky. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
